What Is My Purpose?
By Teri Inclan
This question came up again last night while I was attending a meditation gathering on channeling our spirit guides. This time it wasn’t me who was pondering our existence. A gentleman in class stated he was struggling with strong feelings of not belonging here, of wanting to go ‘home”. He said he knew he chose to be here and that he had something to do, something to achieve, but was frustrated he didn’t have an answer to the question “why am I here?”
I cannot imagine that each and every one of us have not asked this same question of ourselves at one time or another in our lives. As of recent I have felt a strong conviction that I have found that answer for myself. But just like with any truth, knowledge or information that doesn’t mean you are now ‘in the know’ by any means. Only that you have what feels like a sure path underfoot to travel to get to your end goal.
I believe the end goal we all look to achieve is in fact a universal higher frequency of love. Our home. The love from which we originated, and long to return. I think our long fascination with the heavens and cosmos is a longing inside of us to re-link with that universal love. It pulls on us, drives us, consumes us, frustrates us, and its all part of the ride we are on to master each lesson and find the transformation and resolution within ourselves. Taking us that one step closer to who we really are.
Now more than ever people speak of experiencing an “awakening”, or becoming more conscious. It appears that this awakening is a shift in our perspective, a lifting of a veil over the way we received our thoughts. Many people are becoming more and more accountable for their own lives. A self-realization that their reality, the quality of their lives, all manifest from inside of us. That we have the power to achieve that happiness, peace, joy and love that we want to live for, but only if we create and maintain it from within.
I do not believe any of us are here to “do” or necessarily achieve or attain anything specific. Each of us has a different life and perspective to share with the whole. We are a mass consciousness working together through unity and diversity, and polarity. Through fear and love we create every opportunity for us all to fulfill our propose.
What is our purpose? I believe it to be what many refer to as enlightenment, ascension, transcendence, a return to Source, or Christ Consciousness essentially. A point were we have endured our tests, our lessons and have been able to experience, feel, understand and then transform our thoughts, feelings, emotions, behaviors and therefore actions into unconditional love.
A state of inner peace which is in essence a surrender to what is, not what we were expecting or wanting our experience to be. A unification, understanding and empathy for all other sentient beings sufferings and circumstances.
To love without judgment. To love without expectation. To love as a state of being. This is why we are here. As a species with amnesia, to remember who we are.
This is attainable for each and every one of us. It does not matter if you are homeless, religious, a scientist, a convicted felon or born with a golden spoon. We all have different circumstances, conflicts and lives that will provide the opportunity to us to practice our free will. We all have consciousness; therefore we all have the ability to make choices. We can chose to focus or attention on that which will steer us to our highest selves, or focus on the idea that what happens to us is outside of us and therefore out of our control. In turn becoming our own worse enemies manifesting exactly what we fear and falsely believe to be true.
So while we all have the ability to evolve and transcend beyond the confines of our lives now. We must do the self evolutionary work. The self-reflection, the healing, the daily practice that strengthens the spiritual muscles that have been asleep most of our lives. We must see each form of suffering, conflict, fear, anger, pain as a gift for us to find the skills within to navigate and master these spectrum of emotions into a healthy expressions of the energy within us that is our power, our love.
As we grow past unconscious reactions and behaviors, our vibration increases and we handle things in a healthier way. Our self knowledge, love and appreciation grow and we soon are able to quickly recognize, embrace, release negativity and pass through emotions that would once become a devastating downward spiral.
We never overcome all negativity. It is essential we get to know ourselves and be conscious of lower vibrational instances and continuously strengthen that which is given to us to grow. Our struggles are our gifts. We cannot permanently hide or ignore that which triggers us. You will find it presented again and again and to a point you can no longer tolerate if you do not master what it is inside you that you need to overcome.
It is my belief that when we become spiritually strong enough to consistently hold the peace of unconditional love in our hearts, that loving intention elevates the mass consciousness and THAT is what we are here to achieve. Raising the Christ consciousness of the whole. To end suffering. To BE the change.
Believe that it is absolutely possible for an individual to make the difference. It is up to each and every one of us to go within, do the work, be the love, and service to others. That is why you are here.
(This is the thoughts and ponderings of myself. Purely opinion based of course.)
