If you wanted to wake up and change your life, you could. If you wanted it to look different, it could. And if you looked around and it actually wasn’t where you wanted to be, you could fix that too. We are told time and time again that we have everything in us to change our lives. We hear it all the time. You are the creator, you are the masters, and YOU are the lords of your own consciousness. When I hear that, I say yes I know this is true, but then there is another voice that says “well it’s a nice idea, of course people who have done that can say this, but they aren’t in my situation.” They don’t know what I have to deal with. They don’t understand I’m a mom, I have bills, I have a life I have to maintain and I can’t just up and change things. But the truth is always YES, you can. If you woke up tomorrow with a vision of what you actually, truly and deeply wanted, you could begin to make that happen. I think the problem is more so that, a lot of us, don’t actually know what it is we want. Do we know what we want our lives to look like in every detail, and do we confuse ourselves with seeking what others seek and not actually checking in with ourselves to see if that’s what we truly want? What we tend to forget is that, at one point, everything we currently have was exactly what we wanted. We forget to look around at the proof that we already ARE living the life we created, and that we are capable every single day of doing this again and again. Instead, we restrict ourselves and tie our own hands behind our backs, for fear of moving forward. This is the true essence of human victimization. We feel more comfortable being victims then we do liberating ourselves from guilt and fear. We create stories for ourselves in order to not move forward, to not succeed, to not look at our own truths.
There is something you are getting from your life exactly as it is now or you wouldn’t be living it. A lot of the time, we are simply victims of the stories we tell ourselves, the ones that allow you to stay stuck and not face the truths of your life. It can be as simple as I want to go on vacation but I don’t have the money, when in fact you spend all this money at the coffee shop, eating out and buying things that aren’t a vacation at all. So the truth is the money is there you are just making choices, a victim to your own chosen circumstance. Another excuse we give ourselves is I don’t have time to live the life I want. But if you look around you, there are plenty of people living their dream with the exact same hours in a day as you, doing a hell of a lot more with their time. If a friend were to show up at your door with concert tickets and said “I just got these tickets but we gotta go right now!” you would make it work. So, why aren’t you making it work for what it is you actually want for your life? These stories we give ourselves put us in our own cage of illusion. But it is time for liberation. This liberation is the evolution of our consciousness. When we can stop living in the way of the victim we will be free.
You are already living an amazing life for you at this very moment. First, you must believe that. Whether it feels “good” or “bad” it is actually all perfect. Your soul does not recognize and separate moments and feelings into good or bad, everything just IS. This is where true gratitude comes. Gratitude for where you have been, where you are and where you are going is all important in the present moment. We have no idea at all that life would be better if we immediately had one thing and not the other. It is a belief put on us by the indoctrination of our culture that, if only we had this one thing or another, we would be happy. But how do you know that you would be happier in a bigger house or with a different car or being able to travel? You, right now as you are, are already beautiful beyond all measure. That is not to say that you can’t have goals and dreams but the natural flow and fluidness of those things come with vision and moving naturally through your own life. Our dreams are not realized by mimicking or looking at others and saying that should be me. No, if that should be you it would be, but it’s not. Comparing yourself is denying yourself of who you really are and what you need to be is truly you. You have no idea that a man picking berries in a field and going home to his trailer to sleep is less happy then you. You have no idea that a woman jet setting around the world buying clothes and luxurious items whenever she wants is any happier then you. It’s a belief you tell yourself, but what you are doing to yourself in that moment is telling yourself that you are either better than or not enough. And this is what hurts your soul. This is what keeps you stuck, and sick and depressed. This is not experiencing your life. This is a form of control and when you control your life you do not experience it fully. Yes we can have dreams and goals, but we need to create these from gratitude for what already is, with a true sense of what it is we are asking for.
A lot of us like to look externally and seek to find the problems in the world. But those problems are a direct reflection to our internal worlds. If you look hard enough for any view point at all you will find it. If you want to believe that the world is bad you will find bad, and the same true for good. But ask yourself why? Why is it that you would want to see the bad in the world? Is it because there is something within you that you do not wish to look at? Is there something inside of you that you view as bad? Are you judging the outside because you continue to judge yourself internally and are not ready to love yourself completely? Yes, we can classify some of the events we see as “terrible” things happening in this world and yes you do have a dark side too. I am not suggestion positivity as an escape for reality but rather accepting that everything in the universe has duality and we must accept this within ourselves first. I love the shadows in me, and I carry my darkness with me every day as a cohesive entity but not in contrast to, or better than, my light, I believe it is this same way we must be with our changing world. Believe you are already living here with the new earth because you are. Believe the change has already occurred because it has. Instead of pointing out hypocrisy of other humans, embrace that it is in you too, every day, and how much it would change your life if people, and yourself, if you were seen as a whole entity rather than separated into pieces, or good and bad.
Your world is exactly how it is because of exactly who you are. If you changed yourself, your thoughts your words or your deeds, the world around you would change. This has a ripple effect on the entire human consciousness. We are living a world within a world, a dream within dream. The world is exactly as it is now because of whom you are. This is the true idea of connection and oneness. I change and this changes you, then the world changes and then the universe outside us changes and so on and so on. The self IS the collective consciousness. We are one and made up of the same energy. By changes ourselves and doing our own personal work we are throwing a stone into the pond of the collective consciousness, and the ripples begin.
But what am I here to do? What is it exactly I am here for? I often get tripped up on this thought. Each one of us came here for a reason and a purpose. Sometimes that feels like a lot of pressure. Sometimes we spend days, years even, agonizing over what that means. “What is my purpose?!” If only I could find what I love to do and do what I love and I will succeed. Again this can feel like more pressure. What do I love?! Why am I here?! What am I good at?! I think that what we need to start saying is, how can I relate my message to the world, show what it means to be here on earth to me? How can I show the world my experience of what it means to be human? Rather than saying what is my purpose, what is my calling, I think it’s more beneficial for us all to recognize that in fact we all have the same calling and purpose, or we wouldn’t all be here together and that is to share in our experiences in this body as this light on this planet. Our humanness. But rather than dividing the purpose we must find our own personal way to express these experiences and share them.
I bet you are wondering how is this all related. What it comes down to is living an authentic life, so that not only your light shines but that the world shines with you. Think of every movie or story we tend to fall in love with. It is the usually the stories where the normal everyday person becomes the hero, the ones where we are inspired by the magic of life, and the ones where the whole movie you were waiting for the truth to be revealed but it was right in front of your face all along. This is no coincidence. This movie is your movie, it is your life and it is our lives. Everyone wants to make the world a better place, but it all comes down to the self. When we change the self we change the collective. We have spent a long time wating to be saved, its as if we think that someone, thing, or being will drop to earth and save us all. But just like in every story we have ever loved, you ARE the hero, you are living the magic and it was here all along. It is us, the current collective consciousness and the time is now.
