By Clint Culberson
Erik De La Cruz is the Mexican born visionary artist known as DELA. He shares a little bit about the man behind the art with Clint Culberson at the Gem and Jam Festival 2017. While his art touches on many themes he explains why he has such an emphasis on women and animals, and how his art is an “artivism” for helping bring our world back into a balance within gender and the global environment as a whole. Colorado recently added another amazing artist to an already bustling art scene when Dela left the Bay area for a fresh start in the Rocky Mountains. He explains the influence that each of the places he has lived has had on his work. The vibrance and vitality of his art are only a reflection of the man holding the paintbrush and it was a real honor to have this chat with him.
